FOUNDATIONS

Science of Body, Mind and Soul

Our 200-hour yoga teacher training in Bali offers a grounded yet expansive exploration of yoga’s foundational principles. You’ll gain clarity on often abstract or mystical concepts by embodying them through direct experience.

Modern science affirms what yogis have long known: the body is a storehouse of memory and wisdom. Vitalizing, conditioning, and coordinating its systems through somatic movement and breathwork creates an inner dialogue and connection that is key to unlocking that inner intelligence.

Through the skillful integration of postures, breathwork, deep relaxation, and meditation, we lay the groundwork for a meaningful connection between body, mind, and soulful experience. You’ll be empowered to move, teach, and live with clarity, purpose, and authenticity.

INTELLIGENT SEQUENCING

ELEGANT, EFFECTIVE, FLUID

Zuna Yoga® sequencing is inspired by the same principles that animate the natural world—elegance, efficiency, and fluidity. You’ll learn to craft classes that guide students on a purposeful and transformative journey through the landscapes of body, mind, and soul.
Through the integration of yoga, tantra, somatics, and modern science, you’ll develop a clear understanding of how to apply bioenergetic principles to enhance flow, regulate the nervous system, and awaken the body’s inner intelligence.

You’ll be trained to skillfully combine a wide range of yogic tools—including asana, bandha, breathwork, and meditation to design inspiring class experiences built on intelligent structure and energetic coherence.

INTEGRATION

TRUTH, COURAGE, CONNECTION

Go beyond the intellectual ideas and techniques explored in this course by integrating them into meaningful, embodied practice. When body, breath, and mind align in harmony, yoga becomes what it was always meant to be—an expression of your innate power, guided by grace.

As your practice deepens, so does your journey of self-discovery. You’ll begin to uncover the radiance and wisdom that have always lived within. These insights are not just understood—they are felt, embodied, and woven into the fabric of your being.

With our powerful and integrative approach, we lay the foundation for a sustainable, lifelong practice—one that extends far beyond the mat. It becomes an inward journey to live more authentically, courageously, and joyfully—rooted in the radiant expression of your deepest truth.

200 YTT FAQ's

The Zuna Yoga® 200-hour yoga teacher training course is for intermediate yogis who are ready to learn what makes yoga work, develop a solid foundation of practice, and are interested in moving beyond just the physical.

If you have a regular yoga practice, you may be more prepared than you think throughout the training. We strongly recommend applicants prepare by:

  • Developing a regular asana practice of at least an hour, three times a week.
  • Being relatively comfortable practicing intermediate back bends and willing to work with guidance on inversions.
  • Acquiring a level of maturity, a willingness to learn, discipline, curiosity, and an understanding of the limits of your own body.
  • Trying different styles and different teachers, at your local studio or online.
  • Keeping an open mind, and a willingness to go deep and move past established habits.
  • Practicing mindfully and aiming for gradual progress to avoid injury.

About half of our students sign up for this 200 hour yoga teacher training Bali without the intention of becoming yoga teachers. Although this course is for curious, passionate yogis who want to strengthen their knowledge and practice, you will be fully prepared to teach.

One of the primary aims of the Zuna Yoga® system is to first reveal and then create a healthy relationship with the authentic self. Our main goal in this program is to guide you through powerful and effective techniques, and create a foundation for practice that will serve you long after your training is over, whether you decide you want to teach or not.

Yes, our programs are Yoga Alliance certified, which means you will receive a globally recognized certification upon completion.

Yes, upon successful completion of the program, you will be qualified to teach yoga and can register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT).

While the schedule is intensive, there is one day off per week designated to explore more of the surroundings, go to the beach and relax.

Participants usually fly into Ngurah Rai International Airport (Denpasar, Bali), and then take a taxi to the training center. Grab and Go-jek are the two main transportation apps in Bali and the easiest way to get around the island, but we can help you arrange transportation to the training site too.

Yes, many participants choose to stay longer to travel or deepen their practice. We often start the 300h YTT (Level 2) one week after the 200h YTT finishes, so that students who want to continue their study can enroll in both programs easily in one trip. Be sure to check visa requirements for longer stays.

This visa information is provided as a guide only. Please check with the Indonesian Consulate in your home country for the most accurate and up-to-date Indonesian visa information for your nationality.

Ensure your passport is valid for more than 6 months after arrival, and that it contains several blank pages. Officially, proof of onward/return ticket is a requirement for travel to Bali, and you may be required to show it upon check in.

There are several visa options available, depending on your country of citizenship and travel plans.

  1. Staying 30-60 days: Visa on Arrival (VoA): Buy at the marked counter before queuing for immigration. Cost approx. US$35US. VoA is necessary if your stay is between 30 to 60 days. Valid 30 days and extendable ONCE for 30 days. For guests arriving before the training: please do not organize your visa extension yourself, as you will need to go to the immigration office in Denpasar three times! Instead, contact us and we will connect you with our reliable visa agent. We can also help you with your visa extension during the training, and you will only need one in person trip to the immigration office. Note: if you do not purchase a VOA and you want to stay in Bali longer than 30 days, you will need to fly out of the country and fly back in to start the clock again.
  2. Certain nationalities, regardless of length of stay: Visa needed (apply abroad before arriving in Indonesia)
  3. Business Visa B211A – can be applied for electronically, allows you to stay 60 days and renewal for another 4 months, month by month
  4. Visa Exemption for travelers from a limited number of countries.

Please check the country visa lists here, to see what visa regulation for Bali applies to you. Use the Visa Departure Calculator to make sure you don’t overstay your visa. Fines for overstay are around $75 per day.

Zuna Yoga® is a school of hatha vinyasa yoga. Our style can be described as traditional hatha, which is characterized by attention to alignment and holding poses longer, combined with flowing, dynamic vinyasa sequences. The Zuna Yoga® system includes the use of asana, bandha, mudra, pranayama, mantra, meditation, yoga nidra and other components.

The Zuna Yoga system was built upon the magic of Somatic flows and Conscious Breathwork. Feeling the body, intuitively listening to its dialogue, its feedback through both the physical and mental sensations that are present is how we develop the most benefit from our performance of yogic practice wether engaged in postures or meditation.

The body and mind are integral components of our experience not separate. Understanding and actively participating in their relationship to our life’s experience is how we calibrate our selves to not only be present but elevate ourselves to realize our best soulful version.

For most students, the 200 hour program is challenging on many levels: physical, emotional, mental.

Our days begin at sunrise and you’ll be busy with class, lectures, workshops and practica until dinner time.

Be ready to listen, reflect, write, share, move, stretch, strengthen, practice, work, learn, laugh, cry, and dance.

The program requires consistent attention, discipline and fortitude. Growth occurs outside of our comfort zones, and you’ll be encouraged to reach beyond that barrier, but ALWAYS within your own safe limits.

Our 200 hour yoga teacher training intensive provides a strong foundation in the physical aspects of yoga, including asana, alignment, anatomy, adjustments, modifications and safe biomechanics.

Every teacher of yoga should understand how the body works and be able to create physically and energetically sound sequences. Our 200 hour yoga teacher trainings deliver much more than just asana.

We explore the diverse teachings of yoga tradition, its history and its philosophy. We’ll also introduce you to the advanced techniques of mantra, meditation and pranayama, as well as the principles of Ayurveda.

Our program is delivered in a uniquely inspiring way. It’s shaped by decades of lived experience, education, heartfelt dedication, and a deep understanding of emerging sciences such as neuroscience, psychology and cosmology and the traditions of the Himalaya’s and Sri Vidya.

You will get plenty of practice teaching and the opportunity to develop your own voice as an instructor.

Think of a 200-hour yoga teacher training as Level 1, and the 300-hour as Level 2. The 200-hour course is a foundational program—but it’s much more than just the basics. It provides a solid understanding of body mechanics, hands-on adjustments, and essential practices in breathwork and meditation. Upon completion, you’ll be qualified to register with Yoga Alliance® as an RYT-200, giving you a globally recognized certification.

While the 200-hour training offers a wealth of knowledge, it’s just the beginning. There’s so much more to explore than can be covered in three weeks. This foundational course sets the stage for deeper exploration in our 300-hour advanced training.

The 300-hour yoga teacher training is more like a master’s-level program in yoga, energetic techniques, and meditation. It’s designed to elevate your skills and experience well beyond the 200-hour level. Most participants will have already completed a 200-hour YTT and are ready to dive deeper into advanced practices and personal transformation.

Sure! Many of our 200 hour graduates return to complete their advanced 300 hour yoga teacher training with us.

This can be months or years after your 200 hour YTT, whenever YOU feel you are ready to continue the learning journey.

Students often sign up for a 300YTT one or two years after their 200YTT.

What’s the difference between 200, 300 and 500 hour yoga teacher training? Our 200 hour program plus our 300 hour combine to create the full 500 hour training experience.

You can choose to do a 200 hour teacher training and then a 300 hour immediately back to back. This is a 500 hour yoga teacher training. But you can also choose to do them separately with many months or even years between your trainings.

All hours of a 200 hour or 300 hour training are best completed at the same school, but this isn’t a requirement.

Students who attend one of our 300 hour advanced trainings have sometimes completed their 200 hour teacher training at another school. Some schools like Zuna Yoga® may offer an entire 500 hour program. Many offer only the 200 hour.

If you have the time to dedicate to an extended journey that will change your life, and you’re in strong physical and mental shape, the 500 hour is an amazing experience.

Many of our students enroll in 200 and 300 hour programs back-to-back (500 hour, or “Zero to 500”), to complete all of their training hours with us. It’s a challenging yet rewarding option, and ideal if you can take two uninterrupted months out of your busy life.

Completing both the 200 hour yoga teacher training and 300 hour with the same yoga school ensures both consistency and depth. And if right now you can only take the time for a 200 hour program, that’s a great place to start.
